Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. What X-Multi is

X-Multi is an open-source interface for managing multisignature vaults on the XRP Ledger. It provides tools for organizations, businesses, communities, DAOs, and individuals to coordinate multi-party transaction approval. X-Multi is not a bank, exchange, custodian, or financial advisor.

2. Self-custody

You are solely responsible for your signing keys, passwords, and vault configuration. X-Multi does not have access to your private keys or funds. If you lose your seed phrase and vault password, we cannot recover your access. There is no "forgot password" that bypasses your seed phrase — this is by design for your security.

3. Blockchain transactions are irreversible

Transactions submitted to the XRP Ledger are permanent and cannot be reversed, cancelled, or modified after execution. X-Multi provides proposal cancellation before submission, but once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it is final. Review all transaction details carefully before approving.

4. No financial advice

X-Multi is a tool, not a financial service. Nothing in the application constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Consult qualified professionals for decisions involving significant value.

5. Organizational use

X-Multi is designed for organizations operating on the XRP Ledger — including businesses, governance councils, DAOs, community treasuries, and project teams. The vault's approval threshold and signer list serve as the organization's on-chain governance structure. X-Multi does not enforce or interpret organizational bylaws, voting procedures, or legal agreements between signers.

6. Security model

X-Multi encrypts signing keys locally using AES-256-GCM with PBKDF2 key derivation (600,000 iterations). While this meets industry standards for browser-based key management, no software can protect against a fully compromised device, keylogger, or malware. Use X-Multi on devices you trust and keep your operating system and browser up to date.

7. Open source

X-Multi is open source under the terms published in its GitHub repository. You may audit, fork, and self-host the application. The software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, X-Multi and its contributors shall not be liable for any loss of funds, data, or access arising from: use of the application, blockchain transaction errors, key management failures, third-party service outages, or any other cause. You use X-Multi at your own risk.

9. Availability

X-Multi is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or uninterrupted service. The application depends on third-party infrastructure including XRPL nodes, Supabase, and wallet providers, any of which may experience downtime.

10. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of X-Multi after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be noted on this page.
